How it works

How it works for you
LocalAlert is available either as a hosted service or as a software solution for installation on one of your own servers. Click here for installation requirements

Your LocalAlert server includes a secure service administration facility to fine-tune and customise your newsletter preferences and information categories.

You will also be provided with the LocalAlert SOAP Client, a software utility that allows you to link up to your back-end databases and send information to the server at pre-defined intervals. The SOAP Client provides pre-configured connectivity to key Local Government databases such as planning and content management systems. In addition, you may use our web-based facility to add notifications manually.

LocalAlert will provide you with daily updated graphical analysis of subscriber numbers and trends, by category.

How it works for your residents
LocalAlert will provide you with a page, customised with a look and feel based on your house style, to allow customers to sign up. Customers will be able to select their address from an LLPG/NLPG based address database and indicate the type of information they wish to receive. For location specific information such as planning applications, subscribers may also provide a radius to restrict the details being notified.

In addition, LocalAlert will provide you with a page allowing non-subscribers to query information sent out, by date, category and keyword.

How LocalAlert works
The LocalAlert server will periodically match notifications received and subscriber profiles to send out email newsletters. Where requested, notifications will be accompanied by an SMS message.
